Project
Touch screen protection
A functional cost-effective solution
Auckland Transport PT ticketing system uses Virtual Reload Devices (VRD) to top up existing travel cards and to buy new tickets. With over 200 of these expensive screens around the network they are prone to scratch graffiti. The replacements screens are expensive to replace, not just for the glass but with a requirement to have security staff on hand when the vandalised glass is replaced due to cash in the machines.
Beyond Surface approached AT with a solution to reduce this cost by providing an extremely tough surface protection film to the screen. Should the film get vandalised, it is quick and low-cost to replace. Beyond Surface audits and manages the replacement of all VRD screen across the network.
